Npower make it 5 out of 6 raising utility prices
npower’s 6.5 million customers join the millions of Britons facing higher energy bills after npower became the fifth of the “big six” providers to raise gas and electricity prices.

This will mean an average energy bill up by £134 to £1,188 a year for npower’s 6.5 million UK customers.

Npower follows Scottish Power, British Gas, Scottish & Southern Energy and E.ON in announcing price hikes, blaming wholesale price increases. Only EDF of the big six, who provide 99% of the UK energy system have not raised its prices.

Average tariff increases have been between 10% and 19% on gas and electricity.
