National Homebuilding & Renovation Show
“The biggest house builder in the UK are private people and this show allows people to explore the opportunities available to them in creating their dream home” says Dean Bliss MD of Absolute Solar
With the move towards low-carbon homes to reduce carbon emissions, cutting costs in utility bills for heating and electricity use there has never been a better time to consider how you can create a low-cost home or adapt an existing premise to be more economical.
Green Deal
Absolute Solar, the award-winning solar installer is delighted to be attending the show where it will be displaying the latest green technology from cutting edge solar systems, photovoltaic and thermal alongside other green technologies such as air and ground source heat pumps. Absolute Solar works with private house builders to design and install cutting edge green technology to new homes or as a retrofit to existing premises.
With the Green Deal coming in this year there is no better time to speak directly to Absolute Solar to learn how we can help you with all aspects of the GREEN DEAL.
“As an award-winning solar installer, our expertise and ability to work with home builders and renovators is second to none, we have the technical ability to solve anyone’s design problems to enhance their homes green credentials, cutting long-term costs and providing the best insurance against gas and electricity costs.” says Dean Bliss
Home Insulation
Through our sister company Absolute Insulation
, which has been insulating homes for over 22 years, Absolute can also install insulation, cavity wall and loft insulation.
Absolute Insulation
installs a full range of insulation solutions, from the greenest ecobead cavity wall
insulation for new builds
and loft insulation
. Effective insulation can save over £150 per year providing a well insulated home and can completed using the most green materials such as Earthwool
or Superglass
, giving a payback of within a year for a new fit or between 2 to 6 years with a retrofit of insulation.

Carrot and Stick of Home Improvement
The UK Government is driving change in how we live by actively encouraging us to upgrade our homes in return for a comparative lowering of our utility bills compare to those who do not invest in their properties. The initiative called Green Deal is the Governments’ driver to lower our carbon use and comes into force in April when houses will need to have a had undertaken and achieved an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of at least grade D to be allowed to install green technology to their house, such as solar power.
Energy Performance Certificate Impact
This new regulation, requiring an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is an extra cost to consumers and raises the bar of home energy conservation performance to a new level requiring homes to be at least well insulated, having installed cavity wall and loft insulation to achieve level D. Homes after April 2012 which do not achieve level D or above EPC will no longer be able to claim the all important Feed In Tariff (FITs) payments which make solar power a cost-effective investment until they have carried out this level of insulation.
A current FIT makes up over 60% of the yearly saving of investment of solar panels, bringing their payback time down to typically under ten years and with a guaranteed payment by FIT of 25 years. Without the FIT payment any return on investment will be lost, so it is important to get your energy usage under control by insulating your home the most cost-effective way to reduce your energy loss if you have not already had it done, call Absolute Insulation on 0800 652 3777 to get your insulation inspected.
Home and Business improvement
So the UK Government is driving improvements through legislation which is being more than matched by the increases in world prices of gas and oil. With costs having increased by 20+% over the last year and set to increase further in the next few years making savings in usage is becoming an important driver in the domestic and commercial economy.
From October 2012 the Green Deal will provide the ability to offset fund home and business improvement by rolling the cost into a long-term loan up to the level of savings which your home or business can achieve, called the Golden Rule, which will use the savings you generate from the improvements to fund the investment in carbon saving or energy generation. New Solar Roof
Work begins today on Absolute Solar’s new solar roof, covering the entire surface of their warehouse and office space roof this solar array. The solar roof will install a massive 120 solar panels across the east-west roof of the main Absolute Solar warehouse and administration offices in Wanstead Park, Leicester. Each panel is an ET 250 providing exceptional performance and value for money as part of a new generation solar panel coming onto the market. The Absolute solar roof is a 30KW system, demonstrating that any business with the right type of roof can benefit from solar energy.
Towards Self Sufficient Solar Energy Generation
The new solar roof will provide the majority of the company’s energy needs, making the Absolute Group self-sufficient for most of the year as part of the company’s vision to reduce its impact on the environment.
Through active monitoring software, designed within the system, the reduction in external energy use will be actively managed by a series of improvements within the Absolute Group to reduce their energy usage while generating their own electricity.
Absolute Solar Going Greener
Absolute Solar is committed to reducing its impact on the environment as an integral part of its operation and this is a massive step forward in achieving that, by producing its own electricity. As an award-winning solar installer Absolute Solar provides excellence in commercial and domestic solar technology, from design through to commissioning. If you would like to know more about Absolute Solar commercial installations or know someone who does then please call su to discuss your needs today on 0800 954 6134 where our highly experienced award-winning team will be delighted to discuss your solar needs.
In October 2012 the Governments new flagship programme called Green Deal will replace a variety of existing schemes (CESP, CERT amongst many others) to reduce energy usage and transform our economy to a low carbon economy. The Green Deal will replace existing programmes with an enhanced integrated one which it is hoped will transform the UK economy by reducing our carbon usage by 80% by 2050.
Green Deal Golden Rule
To achieve that the Green Deal will generate a low carbon economy, linking energy conservation to homes and business need. The Golden Rule is that all improvements to domestic or commerical premises under Green Deal will be limited to equivalent saving the improvement will make. With the average home estimated requiring £25,000 invested to bring it up to the standard, that will mean the potential investment will be limited to this figure to reduce energy use and for improvements to domestic dwellings.
Green Deal Domestic Funding
Green Deal will provide homes and business with a new source of funding linked to the buildings need. In 2009 UK homes accounted for 28% of UK energy usage and with over 80% of them envisaged to be still in use by 2050 there is a need to actively reduce their energy consumption. With utility bills estimated to increase by 60% by 2020 the financial impact of not reducing costs will be considerable.
Green Deal Solar
For those who have reduced energy consumption, by installing insulation (both cavity wall and loft), double glazing and modernised their boiler then will then be an opportunity to improve their energy generation using Green Deal funding to install solar panels and other green technologies such as air and ground heat exchangers in domestic and commercial improvements.
